A formal is a nicer dinner offered on Tuesday and Thursday nights in college. Currently, the tickets are £14 for student tickets and £17 for guest tickets. It's a three-course meal, served with chocolate and coffee afterwards and a great way to celebrate something, or just do something a bit special. You can buy wine for the meal in the bar with your student card.
If you want to bring your own wine, you'll have to pay a 'corkage' fee in the bar for this.
If you have dietary requirements, they are very accommodating so get in contact with catering if you have any questions (email@example.com).
The college expects formal standards of dress from those attending (jacket & tie, or equivalent). The dress code is not very strict so feel free to express yourself how you wish. Just don't wear jeans or trainers!
You should be seated in the hall by 7.25pm.
Formals take place in hall. It is accessible via the main steps which have a hand rail, and there is step free wheelchair access. The seating is not padded, there is a wheelchair accessible toilet. The nearest toilets are not gender neutral, but there are gender neutral toilets nearby in the bar. Free menstrual products are provided in all toilets. There isn't a hearing loop. For parking requests, please contact the porters (firstname.lastname@example.org). For enquiries about access, please get in contact with our Disabled Students Officer (email@example.com).
